Happy Earth Day 2008!

Today (and every other day) is a great day to be kind to your Planet Earth. With more and more people aware of the problems that face our environment and ecology, there’s no reason not to pitch in and do your part to preserve it.

Here are some simple suggestions on things you can do to celebrate Earth Day 2008.

- Recycle. Instead of throwing all of your waste products into the garbage destined for a landfill, recycle paper, plastic, cardboard and other products. If it can be reused, don’t just “chuck it.”

- Plant a tree. Deforestation is taking place in many parts of the world. Unfortunately, these great plants take decades to grow and are being cut daily to accommodate real estate developments and commercial projects. Do your part and plant a tree to help bring a bit of balance into nature.

- Drive your car a little less. With gas prices being so high it makes $en$e anyway. Instead of hopping into your car to go to the corner store, ride your bike or walk instead. If you live close to a co-worker, carpool as opposed to driving separate cars.

- Turn off lights and other appliances you aren’t using. This will help decrease your electricity bill, too. If you aren’t in a room, turn off the lights, television or anything else that isn’t being used.

- Participate! Many communities are sponsoring Earth Day Events, check your local media for more information on celebrating Earth Day 2008 with your friends and neighbors.

I hope these Earth Day suggestions will become second nature for all the days that aren’t.

Happy Earth Day 2008.
