This story is sure to string along fans of eco friendly products. We’ve notated in recent months that organic fibers are taking off with consumers, and this story seems to support that supposition. “Studio Knitting and Needlepoint” indicates an upsurge in interest for fabrics made from cotton, alpaca and hemp. The store’s manager says the demand seems to be coming from an increased supply from wholesalers.

“It has a lot do to with the availability of it now,” Cindy Craig said. “A lot of companies are being really innovative.”

Craig started buying more organics when they became available from Blue Sky Apalcas.

For knitters in Kansas City, organic fiber is becoming a must have. As suppliers introduce more fibers, customers want them even more. This seems to indicate that fiber companies that aren’t yet into organic fiber need to get on the ball and star offering more innovative products.
